Acappella Classic — By Keith on September 30, 2009 at 8:10 amThis is Kevin Schaffer, Jerome Williams and me singing He Gave Her Water at Acappella’s 20th Anniversary concert in Oklahoma. I thought I’d include some photos from the archives from time to time, (with and without mullets.) How many of you attended that concert? What about the 25th Anniversary? How many of you are planning to be at the 30th Anniversary, coming in 2012? (We like to plan ahead, don’t we?)

I was able to attend the 20th Anniversary concert. I remember it like it was yesterday. It was one of the most amazing concerts I’ve ever been to, as well as pushing the bar on the extreme spiritually uplifting moments in my life. It was definitely one of the finest moments in my life when it comes to anything Acappella or a cappella.
And I do plan to be there for the 2012, 30th Anniversary as well!
Al and I were at the 20th reunion but we don’t plan that far ahead for the 2012 reunion!! Enjoyed it!!
I attended the 25th it was awesome
Yes I was at the 20th reunion concert. It was a great concert. To see all of those wonderful singers on the stage at the same time was awesome. To hear the crowd go crazy when the Fab 4 got on stage was cool. I had only seen George P. on video tape singing in concert but to see him live was neat. He has such stage presence and vocal passion. He blew me away when he sang “Not My Will But Thine” especially with the back ground powerpoint images. The only one missing was Steve Reischl. I wasn’t able to attend the 25th. I always love seeing past members come back and sing so hopefully I’ll get to see Acappella Classic this summer.
Hi Keith,
I attended the Acappella concert all the way from New Zealand. I was blown away and I had always envisioned or hoped there would be an Acappella Classics… And wow Rodney Britt George Pendergrass Gary Moyes Kevin Schaffer and now Steve Maxwell… I sooo wish I could be there in South Africa to witness such an amazing event… I’d love for you to visit New Zealand and I hope you may have people you know who can help to make this a reality….
Well my memory of that concert was hearing Gary Evans sing bass on Roll Jordon… then Tim Storms on Ring Those Golden Bells who could forget George with Not My Will and Wayburn singing Rescue… TO see Duane sing bass and lead softely and tenderley in his lilting way… I hope Classics do a music video of Acappella that would be awesome… then have the new Acappella sing their rendition of Acappella.
God Bless

I’ve never been able to attend before. I hope to be able to attend the next. What is the planned location for the 30th Anni. Concert? Somewhere in “Volunteer Country” perchance?
I was at the 20th in Tulsa in 2002. It was an incredible experience shared with good friends. I also really enjoyed the AVB reunion last summer at Acafest. It was great to see everyone again. I’d love to go to the 30th in 2012.

Dear Keith,
You and your music ministry have been a blessing to me for over 20 years. I have sung lead for several acappella groups and you have been one of our biggest inspirations.
Will you ever release a complete video of your 20 year reunion/anniversary and Acappella Classic? I really hope you do so that we can have it to bless us in our homes.
I also have a special request. For the groups I’ve sung with, I’ve sang the lead for such songs as Rescue, Criminal On The Cross, Not My Will But Thine, Only Truth, That They May All Be One to name a few. However, I’ve gone on to ministry and don’t always have a singing group. Is there any way possible that background vocal tracks of the songs mentioned as well other songs by Acappella could be available to purchase and utilized? It’s just an idea and I believe that it would be a tremendous blessing to many, many people. Rescue has always been my favorite song and theme of my ministry and would love it if a vocal background track were available for me to sing it. Please let me know if something could be worked out.
Thank you for your love for Jesus and people. God Bless.

I too would love to have the opportunity to sing lead on Criminal on the Cross and Rescue. I am responsible for a Nursing Home Ministry here in Fort Worth Texas, and we just know the residents at our charter home would love them! I can still remember the first time I heard Rescue, and the way I felt when I fully realized what our God did for me. I remember how instrumental those two songs were in preparing my heart for accepting Christ, and would like to have the opportunity to pass that along to others.
God Bless You!
