Annual Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta is an amazing experience

Millions of people have enjoyed the annual Albuquerque Baloon Fiesta, and this year is no exception. This month, the event lasts from October 3 – 11. We enjoyed two of those days with perfect weather and photo opportunities. I’ve been told that this is the most photographed event in the world! If you arrive very early in the mornings, you can experience the mass ascensions. It’s an unforgettable experience to see hundreds of balloons ascending at the same time!
The competitions are fascinating and the diversity of balloon shapes and colors makes for a true fiesta. As with many sports, there is a degree of danger involved. We witnessed an accident that was caught on video. Check out the video in the right column of my blog. I haven’t had time to view and edit the host of photos I caputred. Stay tuned . . .
