Here’s Acappella, class of 1985. Why is this shot taken in front of the Miami Vice sign in a Johannesburg shopping center? The simple answer is this – 1985 was the year that Acappella drastically changed the concert clothing. It was quite a radical shift to transition from three piece suits to a contemporary “Miami Vice” motif. As we passed this sign, Rodney Britt and I could not pass up the opportunity to reminisce.

I remember my first Acappella concert in 1987 in West Monroe, LA. Y’all were definitely rocking the Miami Vice look.
