Packed House for Singing at Weltevreden Park

The Weltevreden Park church of Christ in Johannesburg hosted a Praise & Harmony workshop this past weekend and the house was packed.  The Acappella Classic tour provided an opportunity to plan some workshops in the host cities.  I was very pleased by the enthusiastic response.

    Hi Mr. Lancaster.

Many Many thanks for the workshop at Weltevreden Park. In one day my understanding of singing has multiplied 10 fold thanks to your amazing workshop (variety, planning and 100% encouragement stuck with me). It was a honor and a priviledge to sit under your leadership. On a lighter note, I could get fired from my service of singing next week if I dont implement the foundation which you have established in my heart and the hearts of many other brethren. :) On behalf of the Brethren in Weltevreden Park and also our sister Congregations we would like to say a special thanks to Acappella.

It was an incredible weekend, Saturday nights concert, Sunday’s workshop and to mention seeing the group on morning life. It was a very sentimental weekend to me. My girlfriend and I grew our frienship from Acappella music a few years ago as a result of our common interest in the Acappella group. It has been a dream fulfilled for both of us to see Acappella perform live.

May God continue to richly bless you and the Members of Acappella both who came and who are back in the States in your service for the Kingdom of the Lord. Acappella is a roll model to many, and continue to encourage and touch many hearts.

    • Ridhwaan,
It was our pleasure to be with you. The response was so encouraging!
Thanks for sharing about how our music brought you together and your kind testimony.
On another note, could you see if anyone found a camera LENS CAP that I left at Weltevreden Park? I sure would love to receive it before we fly out.
      Take care,
      Keith

    Hi Uncle Keith.

I sent a text message to Yami, informing him i’d go to the building lunch time, and search for it. If I find it, I will call Yami, and make arrangements to deliver the lens back to you.

    Regards
    Ridhwaan

  3. Hi Keith

Again, thank you for an amazing weekend. Your words are so true regarding the state of our worship services and just how we are focussing less and less on worship. It appears to be a dying part of our services. I believe you have inspired many people to realize just how important worship is and I pray that our services here at Weltevreden Park will change in a big way. I am inspired by your passion for worship and was greatly encouraged this past weekend.

I pray that God will continue to bless your ministry.

Enjoy Cape Town (my home town)
    God bless
    Jerome

    Hi Uncle Keith..

I found your lens cap at the building, it is in my possession. If Yami could contact me, I can deliver the lens cap to your place of residents in Joburg.

  5. Hi Keith, Really enjoyed your seminar this weekend.

I will be implementing these concepts next time I lead singing in my local congregation.

Can I share a dream I have with you? I grew up in a congregation in Zimbabwe (Rhodesia then) where singing was emphasised far more than anywhere else I have ever worshiped. We dedicated the first Wednesday evening of every month to learning how to read the shape notes and practicing new songs.

I am now in a unique position to serve the churches in Southern Africa. I am a publisher by trade and a music engraver by hobby. My dream is to collect recordings of songs of African singers and produce a sheet-music book reflecting their distinctive arrangements in their languages but with an English inter-linear. The purpose is to enable our congregations, which are becoming increasingly multi-racial, to sing these wonderful songs together but with some understanding. This is a huge undertaking. Once this is complete I would hope to get a choir to make a recording that can be used to teach congregations just how the songs should sound. Your prayers for this would be greatly appreciated.

    In Christ
