Celebrating Christmas with a candle light service in Japan
Worship Thursday, December 24th, 2009
The service began with a prayer and congregational singing. The Lancaster Family presented a concert, including Christmas songs and some songs in Japanese (courtesy of the coaching of the talented, Michael McClain.) There was a message presented and a candle light service. The evening concluded with a rendition of Handel’s “Hallelujah Chorus.” What a memorable Christmas!

On December 24th, Keith Lancaster and singers including guest Mike MacClain changed in an exciting spiritual way the tone of the Christmas Eve Worship Service in Mito.
Their mini concert was great! My favorite song among all that they sang was the one that tells the story of the Woman At The Well, John 4: 7-42.
Christians in New York City who have been there for a few decades will remember this song was sung
by Bro. Claude Mann and Bro. Briggs. I had not heard this song during all the years I have lived in Japan, but because I had been at the Washington Heights church of Christ/now Harlem C of C, I could recall and sing softly (at the back of the auditorium) all of the words.
Kudos to my home church folks.
Saturday (26th) will be the training session. Everyone present last night got their singing homework to prepare for the training session.
Sunday (27th) the Lancaster singers will be in worship with the saints of Mito church, all the visitors from other congregations and others.
It will be a wonderful last Sunday of the year for those who attend. It will be a blessing to be alive, healthy and able to attend worship on the last Sunday of the year.

December 26,2009.
The workshop conducted by Keith Lancaster was another amazing event. He taught about music and about singing. I heard information about the 7 shaped notes I had not heard since my childhood. He was inspiring and clearly instructive for song leaders and congregants.
What has amazed me is all the music CD’s he is giving as gifts to those in attendance! He and all member of the group have big hearts and beautiful voices which they willing share just for praising and glorifying God.
May God continue to bless them in their Music Ministry(ies) around the world.
Hurry up and come back to Japan! I can hardly wait for the singing during the bible class and worship service tomorrow.
a grateful participant,
