Lancaster Family Concert: Merry Christmas from Japan
Events Thursday, December 24th, 2009
Photo by Stephanie Harding – - It’s difficult to believe that this is the very first Lancaster Family concert. Of course, all of us sing with various groups and combinations, but Mito, Japan was the location for the very first offical Lancaster Family concert. Melissa did an amazing job of rehearsing the family and putting the entire concert together. The song lineup featured some Durant favorites, Christmas songs, an Acappella classic and some songs in Japanese, through the coaching of our new friend, Michael McClain. Michael joined us for a couple of songs. Christians were joined by seekers for this wonderful evening celebrating Christmas. In addition to a message, congregational singing and candle light ceremony, the evening concluded with “The Hallelujah Chorus.”
This is the first time that our family has chosen to spend Christmas on the mission field. We have yet to present the Praise & Harmony workshop (our first one that’s bi-lingual) and we look forward to worshipping with the Mito church as well. We are enjoying their loving hospitality.
Wherever you choose to celebrate Christmas, we wish a warm and merry Christmas and pray for a happy New Year serving our Lord!
