News from the Home Front

I haven’t had time to post the latest updates, as we’ve been so busy.  I intended to write a long post to catch up, but my flight connection is approaching.  The title, “News from the Home Front,” isn’t quite accurate; as we were only home for three days and I’m penning this from the airport.  Yes, we left Nashvegas this morning and are are en-route to New Orleans to work with a mission church and conduct a Praise & Harmony workshop.  We’ll be joined by a host of other Park Plaza folks.  We left Nashville with Acappella at our home, as they are working on their program during Spring break.

Today is a very special day, as Sharon and I celebrate 33 years of marriage!  (Yes, I know we don’t look that old.    I was still in my teens when we married.)  Sharon is deserving of a very special reward for putting up with me all these years.  My how time flies!  And there is more news . . .

Anticipation is building, as we are eagerly await our very first grandchild — scheduled to arrive next month.  The doctor said the child is a girl, so we decided to buy some “girl items” ahead of time.  Well, the most recent (and most definitive) word is, the grand baby is a boy!  So much for knowing ahead of time.  Everyone tells us that being a grand parent is the best thing since sliced bread, (and I don’t know what preceded sliced bread.)

The picture in this post is a pano taken at the Sherman, Texas workshop.  Anticipation is also building for the Tulsa Workshop next week.  I’m looking forward to leading worship on Wednesday evening for the kick off session.  Hope to see many of you there.

Acappella’s concert is at 2:00 PM on Saturday at the Tulsa Fairgrounds.  You will be impressed by the concert presented by these “young” road warriors.  If you haven’t heard Acappella in a while, check out the online radio at http:www.Acappella.org , and you can also check out some of their rehearsal videos posted on Acappella’s FaceBook account.

I have more good news and some bad news.  The good news is, DFW Airport has now opened a Pappasito’s in the airport.  The bad news is, they were not allowed to install a mesquite grill, so their fajitas are not the same as their normal, high-quality reputation.  We had to “suffer” and order a different entree; which turned out to be equally as good.

Gotta catch our next flight.  I’ll try to update the blog with more news in the coming days.  By the way, were you surprised by the results of the “Song Leader Mistakes” Poll?
