Poll: What “generic” name for soft drink?

While flying through Chicago’s O’hare airport, I found an article in the Tribune about the names we use for sodas. It was even complete with a map, showing that different regions of the country use different names when referring to sodas. Which one do you use?

I am from the south but in recent years I have referred to soft drinks but soda or pop…I guess it comes from having friends far and wide…
Sounds like a lot of U.S. Southerners read this blog. Some areas of our nation would consider it very strange to refer to every kind of soft drink as a “coke,” while it is quite natural in many places of the South.
