This is our first visit to Singapore. Not sure what to expect, I could not help noticing some very familiar names all around us, like McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Burger King, Chili’s, Dairy Queen, Hard Rock Cafe, Starbucks and so forth.

On a previous trip to Christchurch, Roger and Dawn Ferguson traveled with us and all of us stayed at the Copthorne in Christchurch. It’s an eerie feeling to see that hotel in ruins through the televised reports from the earthquake damage.
