Remembering Gary Miller

The Acappella Company is grieving the loss of a wonderful brother in Christ. Gary Miller passed away suddenly Sat. March 12th 2011.

A special offer to benefit the family at this time of need

There are many immediate expenses for the family that will need to be taken care of in the next few weeks regarding medical services and funeral arrangements, and several other ongoing expenses that Gary’s wife Debbie will now be facing without his help. To help, the Acappella Company would like to offer for this month, The Ultimate Gary Miller Collection – with all profits going to the Miller Family. Thank you for your prayers and continued support. God has blessed many people with the gift of music and we were graced with Gary’s presence in this company for many years. In loving memory.

You can assist the Miller family by purchasing The Gary Miller Collection at Acappella.org

  3. May God bless the Miller family in their time of sorrow. My son loved Gary and learned so much from him when they recorded their Altar cd. I know the angels are singing better now that Gary is singing with them.

  4. My four sons grew up listening to Acapella and learned to sing bass by the time they were 7 year olds. What I remember is Gary’s joyful countenance while he was singing. This week God took home some really special saints! I look forward to buying the CD! God bless the Miller family. Thank you for sharing him with the rest of us!

  7. I sang to the people in Africa
Some who didn’t have food to eat
In the depths of full-blown poverty
Most were living out in the street
What a thrill to deliver the Gospel
To a people who were so distressed
Holding back the tears and the cultural fears….
Thank you so much Gary,we found hope and strength here in Zimbabwe with your bass for the Lord.

  8. We miss our brother so much. If you looked around at the memorial service, his legacy was evident! Generations were touched and mentored by Miller. Our hearts are heavy, but in a bittersweet way, for we know that you are in our Father’s presence. Thank you, Keith, for offering this collection to help Debbie and the kids. We are spreading the word!

  9. Thank you for sharing a part of the memorial. And thank you for offering this opportunity to others to help Debbie in this difficult time. Sad to not be able to be there for Debbie and the family. Such a tender, loving, and talented friend and servant. Gary will be so missed by us all.

  15. I’m from Brazil, I have followed the music of Acappella and Vocal Union for many years. And for me Gary Miller was a great composer and singer of beautiful melodies inspired by God. Only today I discovered his death, I’m sad, but at the same time I am glad to have known the work of a man of God, who inspired many young people around the world!

  16. His song ‘Begins’ was one of his creations that helped me to stay close to God! Thank you Garry!

  17. [...] that current and former members of the a capella group Vocal Union sang at their long-time leader, Gary Miller‘s, funeral. The words of this song perfectly describe the sentiments that we’re talking [...]

  18. I didn’t know Mr. Miller personally so all I can say is that I really did admire his vocal range. Sometimes I wonder how come God gave all that note to one man. I’m glad he had the heart to keep it out of a contest though. I guess I’ll find time to go back and look at the songs written by him; “More” is my dad’s favorite. Which reminds me: when does the “Going Home” CD plan to step on Nigerian shores? I must admit your albums, this decade, are really getting scarce over here. Last decade, we had them on tape, but scarcely the series. A friend of mine said he saw everything in The Series on CD displayed in a shop very far away from where I stay. But he couldn’t afford it. How annoying (no cookie smileys or “frowneys” here?). I would’ve done almost anything to get ‘em (well, not exactly “anything” cos I wouldn’t steal. But I guess you know what I mean. Good!). The problem was that this was 10 or 11 years ago– I DIDN’T KNOW HIM PERSONALLY THEN!! So now HIS STORY belongs to our a cappella group’s HISTORY class. Sounds more like the “modal auxiliaries song” :I SHOULD have, COULD have, WOULD have. I guess I should “Check with Melissa@Acappella.com,” right? Well, I’m learning to have great gain –contentment especially with Godliness– so I’m not greatly in a hurry to get them. But I’d like to know who I could contact. However, on a serious note regarding going home (not the album this time), let’s make every effort not to sing the “modal auxiliary song” on that Day. I hope you reply soon cos I know you’re a very busy man.
