1983 Rendition of “Soon And Very Soon”

Throughout 30 years of singing ministry, we have tackled a wide variety of topics in our music, including heavy and difficult subjects. We’ve sung about death, divorce, church splits, abortion, Hell, cancer and such, without avoiding the challenging controversies. However, I readily admit that the overwhelming message of our songs and concerts is always one of unabashed joy, hope and genuine celebration found only in Jesus Christ.

This video clip is an example of the fun Acappella has during concerts. This is what we used to do – – We’d invite the local ministers to the stage, without any warning, and request they sing a song with us. Midway through the song, we’d stand in front of them to block their efforts. On this particular day, set at the West Coast Workshop, we failed to intimidate minister, J.J. Turner and young Jedi youth minister, Jefferson Walling. What fun!

Why not join us for Acappella’s 30th anniversary reunion concerts, beginning June 30 at Lipscomb University?

  1. I remember you doing that in Raleigh NC the first time I saw you. Great memories

  2. That Jeff Walling guy could have been somebody if only he’d stuck to a singing career. I wonder what happened to him, anyway? :)

    • Yes, Mike – Jeff is multi-talented. The first time I saw him, he was playing a leading role in “Fiddler On The Roof” in California.
