Flashback Video: ACAFEST 1986

Rodney Britt and I were stylin’ tuxes during this 1986 “homecoming concert” in Murray, Kentucky. It was our very first Acappella Christian Music Seminar, which concluded with the concert on the campus of Murray State University. Ray Walker led the singing for the evening while special guests, Wilbur Allen and Inspiration from Columbus, Ohio brought their energy to the event.

Here’s a video of us singing The Easter Song.

The previous year to this concert, we had adopted the regular use of recorded vocal tracks (of our own voices) to supplement our concerts. I remember striving for an orchestral-strings sound for the verses of The Easter Song.

Join us for Acappella’s 30th Anniversary June 30 – July 3, 2012 in Nashville, Tennessee. Rodney and I will be singing the opening night, June 30, with Acappella Classic at 7:00 P.M. in Collins Alumni Auditorium.

Join our celebration scheduled in Nashville, Tennessee at Collins Alumni Auditorium. Kicking off the 30th Anniversary reunion on June 30 will be the opening concert, featuring Acappella and Acappella Classic. More concerts will follow through July 3, including Durant, The Vocal Union, AVB and The Lancasters. This promises to be a landmark experience in the life of Acappella Ministries!

Here’s a video of me leading congregational singing along with Acappella on our tenth anniversary in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Wow – It’s hard to believe that our tenth anniversary was twenty years ago!

I sure hope you can join us for our 30th Anniversary, June 30 – July 3 in Nashville, TN at Lipscomb University. There will be many concerts as well as some outstanding congregational singing.
