Acappella Concert at The Tulsa Workshop

It’s that time of year again and the annual Tulsa Soul Winning Workshop is next week! This year’s theme is “Let the Chains Fall Away”

Visit the Acappella Ministries Booth

The Acappella Ministries team will be there in support of the Workshop. Please come by our booth and visit, reminisce and pick up that CD you have been missing in your collection. We are now stocked with every Acappella Company CD title. Be sure to check out the new DVD “Acappella Babies” a great tool for music education at the earliest stages of a child’s life. This makes a wonderful gift for children, grandchildren, baby showers and the church nursery. Don’t miss it!

The workshop will be bathed in a cappella music on Friday and Saturday afternoon featuring Psallo from York college on Friday at 1:30 pm, New Reign from Oklahoma Christian University on Saturday at 1:00 pm, and Singing Youth of Denver on Saturday at 1:30 pm.

Keith will lead worship Saturday at 4:00 pm

Acappella will take the stage on Friday evening at 6:00 pm for a full concert featuring a special medley in honor of our beloved brother and dear friend Gary Miller, who passed away last Saturday.

Experiencing the “Live” Acappella Concerts

It’s always been important to me that we make the recordings the best they can be. Presenting a live concert is a very different endeavor, adding the visual and interactive elements. It’s equally important to make the concerts, though very different than the recording media, the best they can be. I never cease to be amazed by the sheer energy and excitement generated by Acappella’s concerts. If you haven’t seen these guys in concert, you are missing a special treat. I love the way they weave numerous Acappella classic favorites with contemporary selections into their stellar presentation that captivates and inspires. All this is done while maintaining the overarching theme of lifting up Jesus. What an encouraging experience!

The concert in Fortaleza proved to be another home run. I don’t see how the guys maintain that much energy for almost two hours of non-stop singing, but they sure do. Be sure to check out the photo of Robin sailing off the stage.

Acappella sings to packed house in Belo Horizonte, Brazil

The enthusiastic concert crowd at the Centro Igreja de Cristo absorbed every note of the kick-off concert of Acappella’s Brazilian tour. The words to every song were projected in Portuguese to clarify the group’s message. Without a single break, Acappella did an outstanding job of communicating the Good News through the presentation of a a joy-filled, celebration in song. I was very proud of the guys as they gave 100%. I’m also thankful to see them view their ministry as being “off stage” just as much as “on.”

CAMA Awards in Atlanta, Georgia

Taking the stage, one at a time

At the Joburg South African Acappella CLASSIC concert, the singers took the stage one at a time. I launched the concert singing “Jabulani” followed by a solo rendition of “A cappella.” A thunderous response greeted Rodney Britt as he joined me on stage (pictured here.) Later, George, Gary Moyers, Steve Maxwell and finally Kevin Schaffer took the stage to complete the line up of Acappella CLASSIC in Joburg. The crowd response was off the charts! It seemed that they knew the songs better than Acappella.
