Durant dazzled ACAFEST with their high energy concert. I was very impressed as they demonstrated vocal gymnastics utilizing fascinating technology. Anthony Lancaster, former Durant member joined them for several songs. It was a bitter sweet moment when the group paid tribute to long time members, Darren & Rachel Whorton, who will be moving to New York City. I’m happy to see another Lancaster join the group, as Allison lends her talent to this talented ensemble.

Durant wins prestigious award at the MCA Awards

Here’s a photo of the “new group of the year” award winner: Durant. Anthony Lancaster sang with this ensemble regularly before joining Acappella. Durant is very active in recording (heard their Christmas album?) and touring. They are also becoming more active in worship music and youth rallies.

Durant to sing in Nashville Saturday evening

Durant is scheduled to sing on the “Power of One” concert tour this Saturday, September 26 at the Sheraton Music City 777 McGavck Pike, Nashville, TN. I’m not sure the exact time of the concert, but you can find more at this link. Also appearing will be Straight Company, Committed and Paul Dorian Williams. This will be a powerful concert.
