(Pictured: Sculptures at the La Familia in Barcelona Spain.) At Park Plaza in Tulsa, Oklahoma, we are planning four services on Easter morning: One at 7 AM. Another at 8:30 AM. Then we’ll have two simultaneous services at 11:00 AM. What do you have planned at your church?

This shot was taken in October of 2008, before we were members at Park Plaza. After conducting a Praise & Harmony Workshop in Tulsa, they invited us to lead worship for a combined assembly they planned in the brand new Convention Center. When a congregation has multiple services, it’s always encouraging to gather the entire family together for special occasions.

Park Plaza Ministry Fair

While we were traveling on our longest mission trip to date, including New Zealand, Australia, Malaysia and Singapore, Joe and Carol Peery represented the Praise & Harmony ministry at Park Plaza’s Ministry Fair this month. We appreciate the Peerys so much for assisting in this ministry!

Park Plaza Church Unconfined to Church Walls

The Park Plaza Church family refuses to be limited to the four-walls of the church building. Although we enjoy meaningful, enthusiastic assemblies on 51st Street in Tulsa, the clear emphasis of Mitch Wilburn’s messages (and the elders’ leadership) is to spread God’s love to the entire world. Individuals and families are encouraged to participate in regular mission activities, whether it’s across the street or around the world. I am amazed by the percentage of Park Plaza members who plan their vacations around serving in missions all over the world. Every member is a minister. “Missions” is not a slogan, but a genuine priority. Park Plaza is indeed an “Antioch” Church. Our international Praise & Harmony ministry fits well within the mission of this church’s vision for world missions. How exciting it is to be a part of this group of disciples who are committed to seriously living the mission!

Park Plaza Church receives the Antioch Award

Our home congregation, the Park Plaza Church of Christ in Tulsa, Oklahoma, has been honored with the Antioch Award. The award recognizes churches with a serious focus and emphasis on missions and outreach. Sharon and I are very thankful for our church family and its leadership.
