The long awaited Praise & Harmony collection, “Reigning God” is now available. Featuring songs honoring our reigning King, “Reigning God” is an eclectic combination of congregational songs, tested and ready for worship. Each package features two CDs containing all 25 songs. The first disk features a large, talented group of singers / worshipers.  The second disk is the “Training Disk,” which provides an easy method to teach beginners how to sing harmonies of these 25 songs.  Great for congregational use and singing classes, Reigning God is sure to be a blessing to Christians around the world.

In the near future, we will be announcing auditions for two different groups. The Acappella Company is making plans for the next Praise & Harmony recording. Also, we will be assembling a volunteer choir to sing back up for  Acappella’s 30th anniversary celebration in 2012.  We’ll be auditioning quartets for both assignments, in search of outstanding singers who are willing to commit to plenty of rehearsals with the goal of excellence.

Without a doubt, the favorite part of each recording experience has been the spontaneous worship that we enjoy after the “work” of the recording session has finally been completed. That’s the time we’re not distracted with laying down pristine tracks, but simply enjoying praising and worshiping Him in song.

I have a sneak preview for you –This is a “pre-release” glimpse of the stellar quality of this worship project. Our prayer is that these songs will inspire individuals and churches to harmonize their hearts and voices in praise to our God.

Have you ever participated with a professional group recording?  Would you enjoy being a part of the next Praise & Harmony recording?  Here’s how it works.  We are seeking talented singers from each congregation to form a quartet (one soprano, one alto, one tenor and one bass), who are willing to commit to the quartet rehearsals and individual memorization to learn the music for the next recording.  These volunteers will audition by recording a song (pre-selected by Acappella Ministries) and submit the recording to John Bynum. (Note, more than one quartet may apply from any given congregation, but only a maximum of four can audition at one time.)  The quartets that are accepted will focus on blend, pitch, cut offs, dynamics and specific rehearsal notes provided for the 25 contemporary worship songs of the album.  These volunteers will join hundreds (we expect our largest number ever) of well-prepared singers from long distances to participate in this spine-tingling experience in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  However, it requires a lot of work to make the recordings the best they can be.  And, because the sessions are so intense, we’re planning some extra time after the recording for some “fun” singing and all-out praise.  The sweet fellowship is always a highlight for the singers who have gathered from the four corners of our country.  If this sounds like something you’d like to experience, contact John Bynum at John@Acappella.com ask about details and audition requirements for our September recording.
