Talent Search for Christian Vocalist

Whether singing in Asia, Europe, South America, Africa, or at home in Oklahoma, Acappella connects with people of all walks of life with a Gospel message. Instead of the spoken word, Acappella communicates through the vehicle of voices singing in harmony. Acappella Ministries is conducting a worldwide talent search to identify ACAPPELLA’S NEXT HIGH TENOR! Applicants should have a heart for ministry, a calling to serve others, and a passion for working in a team environment.

And even if you don’t sing high tenor, but you think you’d be a good fit for Acappella Ministries, we’d like to hear from you, too! We’re always looking for talented singers and other creative folks for our various projects and ministries.

Applicants should submit an audition video along with a resume and references. The video should feature the applicant singing lead on two songs that showcase your style and range.

Your video can be posted online or put on a disc or flash drive to be mailed. Links to online videos along with electronic copies of your resume/references should be emailed to Auditions@Acappella.com

Compensation includes concert stipends and a scholarship and housing at Oklahoma Christian University. The position will require relocation to Oklahoma City.

Summer Celebration and ACAFEST 2013

Things are coming together for what will be the largest and most innovative Summer Celebration ever. ACAFEST is part of Summer Celebration. We are looking at “The Sermon on the Mount” and are calling our time together, “Practicing the Way of Jesus.” Our hope is to not just talk about the sermon, but put it into practice in our lives and churches. Last year we had over 3000 people attend sessions of Summer Celebration.

You will not want to miss …

Rescue Me From The Wicked

You can’t turn on the news without out hearing bad news . . . I mean really bad news. Bombings, kidnappings, murders and wars. Again and again, we’re inundated by the advance of evil. This Psalm comes to mind as we call upon and confess the holy One who is above all. We pray that God will rescue us from the wicked.

” . . . Rise up Lord and bring them down. . . ”

The first century church was encouraged to sing to each other through the Psalms. No doubt, Psalms like this one were sung to help them cope with intense struggles they faced on a daily basis. You can find this song, Rescue Me, available at The Acappella Company Store.

No Better Audiences than in Brazil

What preacher doesn’t bounce a little higher when greeted with “amens?” Likewise, singers draw energy from responsive crowds. Having been blessed to sing for audiences around the world, we have found our Brazilian friends to be unsurpassed.

This video was taken by a fan during a concert in Sao Paulo. When the harmonies locked tightly for Acappella Classic during “For The Lost,” you can hear the audience’s response in this short clip:

Praise & Harmony and Duck Dynasty

What do Praise & Harmony and Duck Dynasty have in common? Missy Robertson is among the many talented vocalists who have recorded on one of The Acappella Company’s Praise & Harmony collections. Glorious God, recorded in 2007, was recorded at two locations: Houston, Texas and Madison, Tennessee. Friends from many states, including Louisiana, traveled to the recording location to participate in this project.

Many people have inquired about the current process of recording the Praise & Harmony CDs. Quartets, consisting of soprano, alto, tenor and bass, record an audition song to apply for the next recording project. Once selected, the group receives music and training disks to rehearse and prepare for the session. Once at the location, singers are divided into sections and recorded by voice part. The singers are recorded again in a mixed (SATB) configuration.

Acappella Classic Sings of “Good Livin’ “

James 5:13 says, “…Is anyone happy, let them sing songs of praise.” Acappella Classic belts this Acappella classic in Lubbock, Texas, during a rare reunion concert in Lubbock, Texas. Fans traveled from several states to attend this fund raising concert for the Children’s Home of Lubbock.

How far would you travel to see a favorite artist? Classic is not planning to appear again until next year; (Which will be in the nation of Texas. — There has always been a host of outstanding fans in Texas. Classic is thankful to be able to benefit worthy ministries like The Children’s Home of Lubbock.)
