Actually, they were married twice – - once in Sao Paulo, Brazil and a second ceremony (two weeks later) in Abilene, Texas. Because that happened in 1986 (24 years ago), they celebrate 48 anniversaries. David is a “P.K.” (preacher’s kid) who grew up in Texas and met Babi in her home city of Sao Paulo.

David is one of four elders for the Centro Church of Christ in Fortaleza, Brazil. They have two daughters and a big dog. They have been serving the church in Fortaleza since 1988, thanks to the faithful partnership of the Northside Church of Christ in San Antonio, Texas. Northside sends a group of 30 to 40 people every two years to assist with missions and are actively involved sponsoring children’s education in Fortaleza. O how we need more churches like Northside!

In 2000, the Ingrams moved temporarily to Abilene for David to complete his Masters in Religion. Their oldest daughter, Rebeca, is starting her sophomore year at ACU, as Rachel finishes High School in December – - likewise, bound for ACU. David and Babi are thankful that God led them to serve the church in Brazil and are extremely excited about the potential impact of the future. David and Babi are currently in the process of expanding their role as mentors and resource for leadership training among all the churches. David says, “Even after all these years, we believe God has great things in store for our region and we want to be instruments for His glory.”
