Acappella to Sing at Park Plaza in Tulsa, Oklahoma

Acappella is scheduled to sing at the Park Plaza Church of Christ in Tulsa, Oklahoma on October 14th . Tulsa area friends of Oklahoma Christian are invited to enjoy a night out at Park Plaza on October 14th which will include a musical performance by Acappella, and a presentation from Dr. Ken Miller, OC professor and nominee for the State Treasurer. Dinner begins at 6:30 and the cost will be $10 per person. Acappella’s positive relationship with Oklahoma Christian

As we look back at this year and count our blessings, included would be the new relationship that Acappella established with Oklahoma Christian. Christian education is making a tremendous impact in the lives of so many people, directly and indirectly. Acappella is glad to partner with this university and its wonderful heritage.

Auditions for TEEN Praise & Harmony Project

We are now accepting quartet auditions (we only accept four singers at a time in SATB combinations, auditioning as a group that is willing to rehearse, prepare and blend together in preparation) for our all-TEEN Praise & Harmony recording in June of 2010. This recording will take place on the campus of Oklahoma Christian in Edmond, Oklahoma. We are searching for the most talented teens across the land who are willing to invest the necessary work to master the music before the recording session. Although this is a recording just for teens, we will accept a few adult workers who may be needed to complete a quartet from a particular church or region. This volunteer recording is sure to bless hearts around the world. For information, contact John Bynum. Again, please note, we do not accept individual auditions. The requirement is for each group of four voices to be willing to rehearse the blend, dynamics and rehearsal notes as a group, thus greatly increasing the quality of the combined chorus at the recording session. Group interaction and blend is of the utmost importance. Please pass this information along to youth leaders across the country who’d be interested in sharing this opportunity with their talented teens.

Acappella settling into Oklahoma as a home base

As Acappella settles into their new home base in Edmond, Oklahoma, expect to see more concerts in the South West, as Acappella revs up their new program. The bass voice of Wes McKinzie is rounding out the quintet’s full sound and energetic presentations. Robin Brannon continues to mesmerize audiences with his vocal gymnastics and percussion demonstrations. Anthony Lancaster, Zach Wilson and Zac George are studying at OC in between concerts. If you haven’t heard the group lately, you need to check out their schedule and attend a concert when they appear within a few hours of your hometown. You can order Acappella’s latest CD, Find Your Way to share with family and friends and introduce a new generation to the ministry of Acappella. You can also hear many of the brand new songs on the playlist of Acappella on-line radio.

Acappella sings for OC chapel

Anthony Lancaster, Robin Brannon, Zach Wilson and Zac George recently joined Wes McKinzie in taking up residence in Edmond, Oklahoma. Acappella has begun a special relationship with Oklahoma Christian University to promote goodwill for the school, as well as to represent Christian education in general. Some of the vocalists are full-time students, while continuing to keep a busy tour schedule with Acappella Ministries on the weekends.

It is encouraging to learn how Oklahoma Christian is focusing on ways to assist the local church, along with their obvious mission of preparing and training people for lives of godly service and excellence. Acappella is honored to be partnering with OC and looks forward to a fruitful future.
