I’ll admit that the experience with my wonderful church family greatly influences my opinions. Today is only one example of why I wish every day could be Sunday. Baptisms We ended our first service, began our second service and ended our second service with baptisms. As a worship planner, I have said many times that […]
Last Sunday, we combined our morning services at Park Plaza, allowing some members to worship together for the very first time. The Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center provided an impressive location for the church to assemble. Encouraging members to get involved and connect with others can be challenging, especially in large churches. However, helping members […]
Not long after becoming a full-time worship minister, I was disappointed to find there were no advanced level, continuing-education opportunities geared directly for a cappella worship leaders. With my experience in leading the professional singing group, Acappella, and in producing albums, I was not a beginner in search of rudimentary training; rather, I yearned for […]
I cannot tell you how many times I have relished the thought that I’m the most blessed person on the planet. After all, I grew up in a wonderful, loving family. Those of you who have similar backgrounds know exactly what I’m talking about. There are countless people who do not enjoy such a story. […]
The Park Plaza Church family refuses to be limited to the four-walls of the church building. Although we enjoy meaningful, enthusiastic assemblies on 51st Street in Tulsa, the clear emphasis of Mitch Wilburn’s messages (and the elders’ leadership) is to spread God’s love to the entire world. Individuals and families are encouraged to participate in […]
Our home congregation, the Park Plaza Church of Christ in Tulsa, Oklahoma, has been honored with the Antioch Award. The award recognizes churches with a serious focus and emphasis on missions and outreach. Sharon and I are very thankful for our church family and its leadership.
The New Orleans trip represented the largest mission group effort of members of the Park Plaza church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The results that were accomplished in such a brief time were very impressive. Here are some portraits I took of some of the Park Plaza members, along with the Carrollton Ave and Holly Grove church […]
What a treat (and very humbling experience) to lead worship for this group of around 225 elders and ministers in the Tulsa area. Park Plaza hosted this year’s Elders / Ministers’ Dinner, complete with a sumptuous meal, encouraging message and a time of worship. I was very honored to be given the privilege of leading […]
